1 | Participate in Job Fair | On March 26, 2019 our SEU participated in the College of Information and Communications Career Fair held at the University of SC in Columbia (The Capstone Conference Center), South Carolina. SEU participants included our WNKT Program Director, Tim Hill, who spoke with attendees about career opportunities and internships in broadcasting as well as job openings within the SEU and retained resumes of interested attendees. | |
2 | Participate in Job Fair | On April 3, 2019, our SEU participated in the South Carolina Broadcasters Association Collegiate Job Fair held at the South Carolina National Guard Armory in Columbia, South Carolina. SEU participants included our Program Directors for WTCB and WLXC (Steve McKay & Robyn Simone), and our Promotions Director, Steven Fulton, who spoke with attendees about career opportunities in broadcasting as well as job openings within the SEU and retained resumes of interested attendees. | |

Sponsor event in community designed to inform and educate the public concerning employment opportunities in broadcasting | Multiple students were invited to sit in on the “Early Game” (WNKT) morning shows as job shadows throughout the class year; coordinated by WNKT Program Director, Tim Hill. They observed the operator of the board to see what takes place during a live show; they were instructed on the log and what happens if something goes wrong; and they observed how the audience interacts with the morning show team through twitter and email accounts. | |
