Project Giving Tree (People helping people)
Location: B-C No.1 Grammar School

There is an old saying that, “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going!”That is exactly what parents and teachers of a small Lexington School District Two, School Improvement Council (SIC) did when dwindling tax dollars made it virtually impossible to provide basic supplies to teach the school basics.Supplies like Flip Chart Pads, Dry Erase Markers, Post-it Notes, Construction Paper, Glue Sticks, Printer Cartridges, Copier Paper, Electric Pencil Sharpeners, just to mention a few.One of the teachers came up with an idea that took root among SIC members and blossomed into what has now come to be known at B-C Number One Grammar School as Project Giving Tree.Teachers supply requests have been written on large red apples and placed on a tree located outside the school office in the main hallway. For more information, Call Principal Walter Clark at 739-4075.
